1Microsoft Monopoly equals high price and poor quality  Nov 17, 2009
Microsoft's monopoly results in high software prices for poor quality products. That's why I own a MAC. I am forced to purchase Microsoft software for the MAC because of the monopoly by Microsoft that should be broken up by the federal government just like the railroads, oil companies and telephone company. Until that happens Microsoft will continue to sell poor quality software at such a high price. It's amazing to see how many bugs are still in their programs that they have been shipping for over 15 years. Microsoft, the GM of software companies. The future of America. LOL

4Same as Before, But a Little Better  Nov 15, 2009
I typically don't update anything computer-related until I absolutely MUST because the learning curve always tends to cut into productivity for a period of time after. A recent computer upgrade forced the change from an earlier version of Office to the 2008 version. I was grateful they hadn't piled on too many changes. It has been pretty easy to jump in with a minimal loss of productivity. My only complaints are with the increased level of automation (correction of formatting, etc.) but that can all be turned off. For my purposes, there's a little too much extra in the Office suite and I would have liked a more bare-bones version, or an alacart option (yes I know about Neo Office and it sucks), but I understand why it's offered the way it is. I have liked (or at least gotten used to) the three or four versions of Word used over the past 20 years, or so, and I'm grateful for MS largely keeping the upgrades easy to master so I can focus on getting my work done.

5Works great!  Nov 15, 2009
I really like Microsoft 2008, and have no complaints. My shipment came on the lower end of the range of possible arrival times, which I appreciated.

5PC Convert - New to Mac  Nov 09, 2009
I have been in the military for the past 17+ years used Microsoft products on a PC since Windows 3.1 was the newest software. I recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro and was looking for a way to view work and personal files (Word Docs, Excel Spreadsheets and PowerPoint slides) on my Mac. This product does all that and more! I simply love it, including the easy to set-up and use Entourage (which mimics MS Outlook). Now I can simply open Entourage and get my web-mail, keep my contacts and calendar all synched in one place. I am a total Mac convert and this was the key piece in my conversion. Also, there are three serial numbers with this product so you can load it on up to three different machines, which I already did for my Wife's Macbook Air. Amazing, 5 stars!

5WORKS GREAT WITH MY MAC  Nov 07, 2009
THE OFFICE MAC HOME AND STUDENT 2008 IS BASICALLY THE BEST $100 YOU CAN SPEND OF ANY WORD DOCUMENT SOFTWARE, I USED TO HAVE THE PC VERSION OF HOME AND STUDENT 2007 ON MY OLD PC, AND I THINK THAT AFTER FIDDLING AROUND WITH THE MAC H&S 2008 FOR AWHILE IT IS BETTER THAN THE 2007. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS INSERT AND DO THE STEP BY STEP LOADING AND YOU CAN USE IT INSTANTLY ON YOUR MAC. I HAVE THE 15.4" MAC BOOK PRO. THE BEST PART OF THIS SOFTWARE IS IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE MAC THEN YOU CAN USE IT UP TO 3 DIFFERENT MAC'S WHICH IS AN ADDED BONUS. ALL I BASICALLY USE IS THE WORD PORTION BECAUSE I AM A COLLEGE STUDENT AND IT MAKES IT REALLY EASY TO TAKE NOTES WITH!! A MUST BUY FOR ANY COLLEGE STUDENT.

ALSO ONCE YOU ORDER IT, YOU RECEIVE IT FROM AMAZON.COM IN ABOUT 3 DAYS WHICH IS PERFECT TIMING B/C THAT WAS WHEN MY MAC SHOWED UP.
